Are you my savings account? Because I'm seeing a lot of interest. ;)

My dearest wielder,
As my work picks back up again, I have found myself continually daydreaming of a vacation in which we can practice our fencing forms together slaying monsters (or, in other words, address your insecurities) and then relax by the beach together. We would, ideally, also have gourmet gelato or affogatos at the ready. My treat.
I enjoy my work as a financier, but you're my favorite investment of all. To invest my time and energy into something more than just stocks and start-ups... it's so much more meaningful, to see your skills grow, and to get to know you better.
I always say I invest in people, not products, but usually I don't mean it literally. Also, they're never as attractive as you are. My father says you're only after me for my money, but he says that about everyone. He can't imagine a world where someone could ever love me, never mind someone as talented as you. To be fair, I hardly dare to dream of it myself. |

My father, Vincent. |

Don't worry, I haven't told my father much about you. Just that you're a wonderful person I correspond with. That's all he needs to know. He's a bit.... strict, shall we say. Sensitive... in the sabre-rattling kind of way. I must confess I hope you never meet him. Nothing good can come of it. But... well. That's a story for another day. |

The Kitfox team says they've taken a look at the way wielders gain money and experience in the dungeons, so that the "progression" and "economy" are smoother and more pleasant to experience. Surely it can't be so easy the financial sector and self-help industry would be unnecessary, but I trust that they've done something beneficial to Verona Beach.
Both my office and the Kitfox office have been closed during the pandemic, for good public health practices, but they're slowly reopening and allowing folks to work (at a distance) if they feel safe to do so. I have to be honest, I think everyone's productivity has been a bit lower as we deal with the stress and uncertainty of the world right now.
I'm disappointed I won't see you in 2020, but it makes me look forward to seeing you in Verona Beach even more, to know it will be a relaxing time of sunshine and monster-slaying... even if I must wait for 2021.
If you'd like to learn more about it, here's the full message from Kitfox. |

Anyways, I've heard it's Swordtember? Well. Sounds like the perfect month to get to know each other a little better, isn't it?
What's your favorite kind of sword? Feel free to reply with a photo of it - I do love admiring any kind of blade.
Alternatively if you've drawn your own sword art... I'd love to see it. You wouldn't mind if I put it up in my office, would you? |

The Kitfox team has been scrambling nonstop to help us bae blades be as part of as many events as possible. Perhaps I should offer to lend my personal assistant to them..
Regardless, I hear some press outlets will be covering Boyfriend Dungeon... and perhaps there will even be a stream on Steam by Victoria to go over the demo with everyone? Look out for that on September 14, at 3pm Eastern.
Meanwhile, if you are interested, there are quite a few panels you can catch the team on. I'm particularly interested in the Gamifying Romance, though from a professional standpoint I presume the Funding one would be most applicable to me. All the links to the panels are here. |

I splurged a bit on a more premium dry-cleaning and pressing service for the occasion, so I'll be the one bearing a whiff of cardamom and myrrh. Some have asked me if wearing formal business attire all the time is tiring, but I find it is the opposite. They are quality custom pieces, so their comfort and fit are assured, and the smallest accessory detail (such as a pocket square, or cufflinks) can make an outsized difference.
The clothing does not make the man, no more than the sheath makes the sword, but small comforts are important in difficult times. Dressing well makes me feel powerful, and the more powerful I am, the better I can protect you. |
|
A business meeting is pulling me away, and so I must end this letter promptly. Meanwhile, I'll be planning out a few options for where we could go on our next date - I know a few good restaurants... and more importantly, they know me. I'll make sure they hold my favorite table, whether you're in the mood for sushi or risotto.
I count down the days until I can hold you, and you can hold me.
Best,
Isaac Brookes |
