Hey!
It's me, Leah Martillo. I thought it was time I properly introduced myself. Unfortunately I just injured myself pretty badly out there on the ice. I'm out of hospital, but, I still have a lot of time on my hands between physio sessions. Might as well make a pen pal. Especially if you're coming back to Verona Beach soon.
They say the pen is mightier than the sword... but what about a hammer? Well, I might be a teensy bit competitive, but, I guess right now we can just say 'both', since you'll use a pen to write to a hammer, huh?
I'm a Verona Beach local, born and raised, and I used to be a small-town celebrity of sorts, given I was a candidate for attending the Olympic Winter Games 2022, with my figure skating partner Carlos. But in the final warm-ups, I somehow... well, I'll tell you all about it sometime. It's still too raw right now. Let's just say I didn't make it to the Olympics, and I'll need to figure out something else to do (with my days, with my life) more quickly than I thought.
I did get something cool in the mail the other day, even if it's not as cool as a letter from you. I got an art book! A Verona Beach art book! It's got my favorite cafe, some cool people... it's a bit strange to see such a small town take up 60 pages of travel advertising, but, hey, I guess that tourist board has to spend money somehow.
Alexandra says you'll ALSO get the physical art book if you were a Kickstarter backer at a high enough tier. But don't worry if you missed out on the Kickstarter, or just want to buy that book and not other stuff, because there will be books available on the Limited Run Kitfox merch store very soon.
